Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The paper submitted has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to any other journal (or a relevant explanation has been included in Comments to the editor).
  • The file with the manuscript does NOT include personal information about the author. Should there be a reference to the author/s, their name/s must be substituted by the word AUTHOR.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF.
  • The top lines of the file must include the title in Spanish and in English, an abstract in both Spanish and English and keywords in Spanish and English.
  • Whenever possible, URL sites or DOI will be included for references.
  • The paper follows style and bibliography requirements summarized in Instructions for Authors.

Author Guidelines

Register in OJS and general guidelines

Submissions will be done in the OJS web platform of the journal.  Authors wishing to publish their work in Análisis Filosófico can open a user’s account by clicking there or go to the platform if they already have an account. All the required information about the submission must be specified.

Análisis Filosófico includes original articles, discussions, critical commentaries and book reviews in English, Portuguese and Spanish.  It also welcomes critical contributions about papers that were published in the journal.

Articles must not have over 12,000 words; critical contributions, up to 4000 words and book reviews, 2000 words.  The journal holds the right to consider including papers beyond the number of words set.

Submitted papers will go through a double-blind review.  The Editorial Board will have the last word, after considering the information sent in by reviewers.

Papers submitted must be original and unpublished and should not be under review by the editorial board of any other journal or sent to other journals during the review process. 

Once the submission is accepted, the author will receive his paper via e-mail in .pdf format.  He should check it carefully and send his comments within five working days. To info@analisisfilosofico.org. Publication of the contribution implies the author grants his copyright to the journal.  Authors will receive the digital version of their article in .pdf format.

Format and preparation of manuscripts:

Footnotes should be consecutively numbered in the paper.  References should be quoted as follows: Author’s surname and year of publication, e.g., Fodor (1998) or (Dworkin, 1995, p. 28) along the main body of the paper.  Below the article there should be a full list of references mentioned along the paper under Sources, with authors’ surnames in alphabetical order, titles of books and journals in italics, in the following order:

            Carnap, R. (1928). Der logische Aufbau der Welt. Springer. DOI or URL

            Lewis, D. (1971). Counterparts of persons and their bodies. Journal of Philosophy, 68(7), 203-211. https://doi.org/xxxx

Overall, the Journal abides by the guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA).

Warning about authorship rights:

The journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that providing open access to research works contributes to a greater global interchange of knowledge.  Every work published by the journal follows Creative Commons license Attribution-Non Commercial (CC BY-NC) [https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/deed.es].  Authors keep the copyright of their manuscripts.
