Abstract

The aim of this paper is analysing the collective work Epistemología feminista (2024), compiled by Danila Suárez Tomé, Laura F. Belli and Agostina Mileo, highlighting its theoretical, political and pedagogical relevance. The book shows how feminist epistemology has moved from a marginal position to become established as a plural, interdisciplinary field that critiques traditional notions of objectivity, neutrality and the epistemic subject. In two parts, the work articulates theoretical debates—such as situated knowledge, standpoint theory, strong objectivity, epistemic injustice and ignorance—with case studies in fields such as science, health, bioethics, artificial intelligence and public policy. The volume emphasises that knowledge is a situated social practice, permeated by power relations, and argues that feminist epistemology is not anti-scientific, but rather a tool for building a more democratic, inclusive and responsible science, capable of making historically excluded knowledge visible and proposing transformative alternatives.
