Rumo a uma Teoria Evolutiva-Comunitária da Criatividade Humana

Resumo

De acordo com a Teoria Evolutiva da Criatividade, os processos criativos ocorrem por meio de variação cega e retenção seletiva de ideias. Como argumentarei, essa teoria tem a virtude de oferecer uma explicação naturalista para o fenômeno da criatividade, mas impõe uma limitação desnecessária: ela restringe os processos de seleção de ideias ao nível individual. Em contraste, algumas teorias da evolução cultural sugerem que os processos de seleção também ocorrem no nível comunitário. Nesse sentido, proponho reformular a Teoria Evolutiva da Criatividade, incorporando os processos seletivos que acontecem no nível comunitário à sua explicação sobre a originalidade e o valor dos produtos criativos.
