Abstract

It is widely acknowledged that natural sciences are important for contemporary life and thought. In Ethics and Meta-ethics the relevance of natural sciences is closely related to the conception known as Ethical Naturalism. Although there is a vast literature regarding Naturalism and Ethical naturalism in analytical philosophy, it is not easy to find a book which collects what different and relevant authors have to say about the topic of Ethical Naturalism. The book Ethical Naturalism. Current Debates (2012) has filled that gap. This paper presents the general topic of the book and criticizes some ideas developed in the book. The main purpose is to make general remarks regarding the philosophical enterprise of Ethical Naturalism considered as whole, and at the same time some observations that are relevant only for particular papers present in the volume.
